The barbecue joint celebrates its new expansion-which includes doubled space, an atrium roof and weekend Southern brunch-with a complimentary tasting buffet featuring pulled pork and barbecued chicken sandwiches, rotisserie chicken, sides and more, plus $4 draft beers and live music by the Special 20s. 8-11 p.m. No cover.

The Edgewater cafe teams up with New Gotham Coffee Community for a latte art competition-with hosted beer-featuring Chicago and Washington D.C. baristas. The results are judged by coffee professionals via live-feed projection, the D.C. baristas' art is screened at Metropolis for audience viewing and the winning competitor takes home the registration pool. 7:30-10 p.m. $5 to compete; $2 suggested donation for spectators.
