A city employee is expected to be sentenced Tuesday for trying to use public money to buy a party tray of food for a "booze cruise" bus trip.
Karen Huff, 53, was found guilty last month of forgery, official misconduct and attempted theft of government property for attempting to use city funds to buy $544 worth of food for the trip she organized for her friends and co-workers, according to a report from the city's Inspector General's Office.
She was indicted in 2009 for forging her supervisors' signatures on a form to get money to buy the party trays from a grocery store when she was a project coordinator at Chatham Senior Citizen Satellite Center in Chicago's Department of Family and Support Services, according to the Cook County State's Attorney's Office.
She is due back in court at 9:30 a.m. on April 23 at Leighton Criminal Court Building for sentencing, court records show.
