Bergstein's NY Deli, which has brick-and-mortar location and food truck in the south suburbs, will open its new location in Hyde Park by early September.
Located near the intersection of Woodlawn and 55th Street, the new Bergstein's NY Deli will offer all of its classic dishes, such its well-known Bensonhurst sandwich, along with a few new menu items, according to Bill Davis, co-owner and manager.
Davis said the new deli will be cafeteria-style, allowing customers to collect all of their desired items on a tray before heading to the cashier. In addition, the deli will have a walk-up deli case for customers on the go. There will also be outdoor seating and free wifi.
Prices will be similar to that of the Chicago Heights location, anywhere from $7.50 to $11 for a sandwich, pickle and a side dish.
Bergstein's NY Deli is known in Chicago Heights as a family restaurant, so Davis said he hopes to bring that family atmosphere to the new location.
"We are really excited to be going into a new neighborhood," Davis said. "We enjoy being a part of the community and we want to make everyone feel like family."
