The CTA announced its rail and bus service changes for Sunday's Pride Parade, which begins at noon and winds between Montrose Avenue and Broadway and Diversey Avenue and Sheridan Road.
In addition to changes because of the parade, some Loop trains will see reroutes from 10 p.m. Friday until 4 a.m. Monday because of track renewal work.
Brown and Orange line trains will run as one route between the Kimball and Midway stations in both directions along the Lake and Wabash tracks. Pink Line trains will only run between the 54th/Cermak and Roosevelt stops. Green Line trains will not be affected.
For the parade, the CTA is adding rail service on these lines:
>> Brown Line: longer trains will run from 8 a.m.-9 p.m. Trains will run every eight to 10 minutes from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
>> Red Line: From 8 a.m.-7 p.m., trains will run about every 5 minutes.
>> Orange Line: longer trains will run from 8 a.m.-9 p.m. Trains will run every 8-10 minutes from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
On the bus side, from 11 a.m. until about 6:30 p.m., eight bus routes will be detoured because of parade street closures: Nos. 8-Halsted, 22-Clark, 36-Broadway, 76-Diversey, 77-Belmont, 78-Montrose, 80-Irving Park, and 152-Addison.
>> No. 8-Halsted: There will be no service on Halsted Street north of Fullerton Avenue. Northbound Halsted buses will travel to Fullerton and Halsted before turning to begin southbound service. From Fullerton and Halsted, southbound buses will run via Fullerton, Sheffield and Webster then resume normal routing on Halsted.
>> No. 76 Diversey: There will be no service on Diversey Avenue east of Sheffield Avenue. Eastbound buses will run via Diversey, Racine, Wellington, Sheffield to Sheffield and Diversey before turning to begin westbound service. From Sheffield and Diversey, westbound buses will continue west on Diversey over the regular route.
>> No. 77-Belmont: There will be no service on Belmont Avenue east of Sheffield. Eastbound buses will travel via Belmont, Racine, Wellington, Sheffield to Sheffield and Belmont before turning to begin westbound service. From Sheffield and Belmont, westbound buses will operate west on Belmont over the regular route.
>> No. 78 Montrose: Eastbound buses will operate via Wilson, Marine, Lawrence to Lawrence and Marine before beginning westbound service. From Lawrence and Marine, westbound buses will travel via Lawrence, Broadway to Wilson and then resume regular routing.
>> No. 80 Irving Park: There will be no service on Irving Park Road east of Clark Street. Eastbound buses will travel via Irving Park, Clark to Clark/Bell Plaine before turning to begin westbound service. From Clark/Belle Plaine, westbound buses will operate via Clark, Southport to Irving Park and then resume their regular route along Southport Avenue.
>> No. 152-Addison: There will be no service on Addison Street east of Clark Street. Eastbound buses will operate via Addison, Clark to Clark/Belle Plaine before turning to begin westbound service. From Clark and Belle Plaine, westbound buses will travel via Clark, Southport, Irving Park, Clark to Addison and then resume their regular route.
