Mike Ditka is getting into the sausage game. The former Chicago Bears coach and restaurateur has partnered with Vienna Beef to launch Ditka Sausages.
The varieties of 1/3-pound sausages include Ditka Hot Beef Polish Sausage (hickory-smooked beef sausage with cayenne pepper and other seasonings) as well as a chicken sausage made with sun-dried tomatoes, basil, garlic and mozzarella.
Starting Aug. 9, the sausages will be served at a number of local restaurants--including Mike Ditka's, Gold Coast Dogs and America's Dogs--and sports venues such as Soldier Field. They will also be sold in retail stores ($4.99-$5.99) such as Jewel-Osco and Mariano's in the Chicago area.
