Did you think last year's first annual Poutine Fest was the zenith of the city's indulgent food events? Loosen your belts, because Chicago is about to welcome Donut Fest.
From the same organizers as Poutine Fest, Donut Fest-coming in January, though an exact date has yet to be released-will pit the city's bakeries against each other in a battle for deep-fried domination. Yeah, sorry about that New Year's resolution.
The throwdown will take place at First Ward, the event space inside recently opened Chop Shop in Wicker Park. Profits from the event will benefit UN86d, an organization that provides monetary assistance to restaurant industry workers in need.
Stay tuned, as we will update this post with participating bakeries, ticket information and other details once they become available.
