He bought out as many ugly Christmas sweaters as he could within a 10-mile radius, and Justin Koehneke intends to give them away for free.
Sort of.
Koehneke, 30, of Lakeview, posted a Craigslist ad Monday advertising his intention to giveaway ten super cheesy Christmas sweaters for those who intend on bar crawling at TBOX. But there's a few catches. He has a list of demands first.
"Can't find any ugly Christmas sweaters at your local thrift shop," his ad asks. "Well, I'm the jerk that snatched them all up. I could flip them on ebay and make 30 bucks a piece but instead let's make this a little interesting."
How interesting? Two free sweaters go to a couple who act out the scene from "Saved By The Bell" in which Jessie takes caffiene pills and Zack must console her. One free sweater goes to anyone who can beat him in a 60-meter speedwalking race. Another free sweater goes to anyone who buys a winter coat, some hand warmers and Froot Loops for Koehneke's favorite Lakeview Streetwise vendor. He also has more challenges listed.
"Purchase 20 (1 dollar) scratch off tickets," he writes. "We will scratch these off at the bar (you buy the beer.) We will split the winnings and you get-2 sweaters!"
Koehneke said he's completely serious, and thought the idea was more fun than just simply making a quick buck on eBay.
"It's just my sick, twisted head I guess," he said.
