OK, craft beer lovers of Chicago: It's time to put your money where your mouth is.
South Loop Brewing Company, a fledgling brewery that hopes to one day open a South Loop brewpub, has launched an Indiegogo fundraising campaign to get its first batch of beer to your glass.
The three men behind South Loop Brewing Co. filmed a short pitch video and offer perks to encourage donation. Obviously, the more cash you fork over, the cooler the rewards get, from stickers and magnets to shirts, access to special events and gift cards to area restaurants.
The trio currently homebrews beers, but would use the $15,000 they hope to raise through Indiegogo to partner with Jerry Nelson of Chicago's Une Annee brewery to release small batches of stout, pale ale, porter and others. The money raised would be used to purchase fermenters, ingredients, packaging and other supplies.
The fundraising effort ends January 23, 2014 and is approximately 20 percent funded as of Dec. 2.
