Rumors have flown for months about a second Logan Square bar from the team behind Scofflaw. Finally, owners have released the bar's name, opening timeline and more details that should put some of the speculation to rest.
The forthcoming two-story bar, located at 2357 N. Milwaukee Ave., will be called Slippery Slope and aims to "fill the Bonny's-sized hole in your heart," according to a release. When it opens "before Chicago sees snow for the last time," the bar will incorporate elements reminiscent of beloved Logan Square dive bar Bonny's, which also was owned by the Scofflaw partners before it closed in 2012.
The first floor will include a cabin-themed dance floor perfect for uninhibited get-downs fueled by cheap beer and inexpensive bottled cocktails. The top floor, which will debut later in the year, will offer food and vintage games like Skee-ball. Slippery Slope will join other new bars such as The Radler and Analogue on an increasingly packed stretch of Milwaukee Avenue between California Avenue and Logan Boulevard.
