We're predicting a city-wide quarter shortage with the announcement of yet another arcade bar, slated to open Feb. 14. Owner Jim Zespy of Logan Hardware record shop has announced plans for an arcade bar in the original Logan Hardware space at 2410 W. Fullerton Ave.

When his hybrid record store/arcade outgrew that original space last year, he moved the operation to 2532 W. Fullerton Ave. That location will continue to house Logan Hardware Records, while the original storefront will welcome Logan Hardware Arcade bar.

Offering 20 draft beers, 100 spirits, 25-plus pinball machines and 40-plus video games, Logan Hardware Arcade aims to be "an arcade that happens to have a tavern," Zespy said.

"Our focus is games," he added, citing Logan Hardware's history as one of the only large arcades in the city since the 1990s. All games will cost the same amount they did when the games debuted, from 25 to 50 cents.

Logan Hardware Arcade joins a series of recently announced arcade bars, including a second Emporium location in Logan Square and a River North outpost of Headquarters.
