The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign just aced sex-ed.
The downstate campus topped a list of schools nationwide, which were ranked based on sexual health resources and information made available to students. The 7th annual "Sexual Health Report Card," an analysis commissioned by Trojan Condoms and conducted by independent researcher Sperling's BestPlaces, ranked 141 schools nationwide.
The school jumped significantly in the rankings in recent years. In 2010, the school sat at No. 64, and took the No. 2 spot in 2011. It ousted Columbia University in New York from the top spot this year. A press release by the condom maker credited the school with investing more "time and resources" in recent years to their sexual health programs, leading to their rise in ranks.
While U. of I. topped the list, Northern Illinois University came in at No. 81, DePaul University at No. 114 and Chicago State University ranked in the bottom 10 at No. 136. It's the third year in a row for CSU in the bottom 10 of the list.
DePaul also made strides in the rankings, after being ranked dead last in 2011. It's out of the bottom 10 for the first time in for the first time in four years.
A press release by the condom maker said 11 different factors went into the rankings, including hours of operation for health centers, access to contraceptives including condoms, STD testing and other factors.
