Mmmmm bacon

Ready for your chance to gorge on $100 worth of bacon? Baconfest 2014 tickets will go sale at noon on Monday, Feb. 24.

Last year, tickets sold out within an hour of release. The sixth annual event will feature in three sessions spanning two days--April 25 and 26--at UIC Forum. General admission tickets cost $100 plus ticketing fees. Last year, tickets sold out within an hour of release. As in past years, a portion of ticket sale proceeds will benefit the Greater Chicago Food Depository.

Returning sponsor Nueske's is expected to provide more than three tons of bacon for chefs from participating restaurants to cook with at the event, according to cofounder Seth Zurer. To wash down all the porky goodness, returning sponsor Goose Island Beer Co. will provide beer, as will Revolution Brewing and Wirtz Beverage Illinois, that latter of which will provide cocktails a well. Stumptown Coffee Roasters will also serve hot and cold-brew coffee.

New participating Chicago restaurants for the Friday, April 25 dinner session include Acre, Bellwether, Bottlefork, Cicchetti, City Dough, Commonwealth Tavern, Endgrain, Fork, Henri, Honey Butter Fried Chicken, Howells & Hood, Inspiration Kitchens, Osteria Via Stato, Rodan, Standard Market Grill, Tavern on Rush, The Bad Apple, The Radler, Tuscany and Vincent as well as Table, Donkey and Stick.

New restaurants participating in the Saturday, April 26 lunch session include Bub City, Carnitas Uruapan, Chop Shop, Hutch, Jellyfish, Lobby Lounge, Revolution Brewing, Telegraph, coming-soon Lakeview restaurant Spritz Burger, Tete Charcuterie, The Grid, The Refinery, The Salsa Truck and Troquet River North.

For the Saturday, April 26 dinner session, restaurants new to the fest include Bistro Dre, Frontera, J. Rocco, Links Taproom, Luxbar, Naansense, Monti's, Municipal Bar & Dining Co., Q-BBQ, Southport & Irving, Sweet Ride food truck, The Dawson, Three Forks and Unite Urban Grill.
