File this under "things to consider when moving to a new neighborhood."
NPR has broken down the median price of pizza in 237 neighborhoods across the country, and Chicago is naturally well represented. (Click here for full size.) Using data from GrubHub and Seamless, the graph shows the number of pizza joints in each neighborhood (represented by a variously sized circles--instead of pizza shapes, sadly) and how much the average pie costs.
As could be expected, the Loop ranks No. 1 for the most expensive pizza, with River North and Old Town quickly following. The cheapest 'hood? Austin, with a median price of about $12.
What else did we learn? Data is beautiful and delicious. Thank you, NPR.
