Monday marks the chance for Chicago to get some Chicken of the Cave.
(UPDATE: As of 10:30 a.m. Monday, the AnchorVan is nowhere to be seen near Pioneer Court. We're reaching out to see what's the hold up.)
(UPDATE 2: The van has arrived, and is parked at Michigan Avenue and Illinois Street.)
(FINAL UPDATE: The truck is now -- hopefully permanently -- in front of the Wrigley Building, across from Pioneer Court.)
Well, it likely won't actually be bat meat served at Champ Kind's Whammy! Chicken from "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues," but it will be free chicken. On March 17, the Anchorman AnchorVan rolls onto the Magnificent Mile to promote the release of "Anchorman 2" on Blu-Ray and DVD.
It will be parked from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Pioneer Court near 435 N. Michigan Ave.
Billed as "the worlds first combination news/food truck" in a press release from Paramount Pictures, the truck will serve up free chicken and give visitors a chance to "test (their) teleprompter reading skills."
The promotion began at SXSW in Austin this year along with Baxter the dog, and the tour continues throughout the country until April 1, the date of the DVD and Blu-Ray release of the film. The movie is already available digitally.
