Goodbye, warmth.
The CTA is set to shut off hundreds of heatlamps on its non-subway platforms tomorrow. Heat became available Nov. 1.
Typically, though, a few heat lamps manage to stay on past the April 1 deadline because workers don't turn them off. Every year, a few riders tell RedEye their heat lamps remained on into April.
The heat may not mean much today, with highs expected to reach 66 degrees, according to the Chicago Tribune Weather Center. But the rest of the week has highs in the 40s and lows in the 30s.
Enjoy the heat--while it lasts.
