The CTA is looking into a report of Mace being sprayed on a Red Line train Tuesday afternoon.
About 12:15 p.m., a northbound Red Line train operator was alerted that a rider had sprayed Mace in a rail car but not directly at another rider, CTA spokeswoman Lambrini Lukidis said.
The train was stopped at the Red Line Grand Avenue station. At that time, the rider who allegedly sprayed the Mace got off the train, Lukidis said.
Another rider said she felt sick and requested paramedics. When the paramedics arrived, the rider refused medical treatment and got on the next train, Lukidis said.
The Chicago Fire Department didn't immediately know details of the incident.
