Techweek is digging deep into the music scene.
The week long tech conference announced today that a music fest--dubbed Future Sound--will kick off at the tail end of the Chicago appearance of Techweek. Brooklyn-based synth-pop band St. Lucia will appear on the second day of the fest, Saturday, June 27.
Future Sound is "focused on the intersection of music and technology," where bands will play on a stage set between the Chicago River and Merchandise Mart, where the main festivities for Techweek are held.
Two additional headliners have yet to be announced, but the official announcement today gave a few hints. Another headliner is known "to have the crowd asking for an encore," and the thied is a "top" EDM act. The additional headliners will be announced May 20 and June 20.
Last year, Calvin Harris gave a surprise performance at a Techweek party.
