For those who missed the annual Whisky Advocate WhiskyFest this past spring-either because of the $200 ticket price or how quickly the event sells out each year-there's a new whiskey festival option this year.
Lively Water Whiskey Fest, organized by Red Frog Events, will come to the Field Museum on Nov. 15. The festival includes two hours of whiskey tasting, mixology demonstrations, whiskey-based cocktails and a tasting glass. The full list of distilleries has not yet been released, but a partial line-up includes Midwest distillers Journeyman, Few Spirits, New Holland Spirits and Koval, as well as other American and Scottish producers.
Tickets are on sale now for $65, though the price increases to $75 and then $85 as the event draws closer. A VIP option includes 30 minutes early admission, access to a VIP lounge and three Special Reserve tickets redeemable for rare tastings. VIP tickets currently cost $115; that price increases to $125 on Oct. 7. Designated driver tickets cost $25.
