Peter Griffin and Homer Simpson quickly became friends Sunday night, and just as swiftly proceeded to beat the living hell out of each other.
The much-anticipated "Family Guy" and "Simpsons" crossover episode wasn't earth-shattering, and was hardly the best episode of either long-running series, but it was enough to keep fans of either show entertained for about an hour. There's just something refreshing about seeing beloved TV characters interact, and honestly, it doesn't happen nearly enough.
Heck, ratings-baiting shark-jumping be damned, there's plenty of shows we'd like to see blissfully unite. Hey! TV executives! We know we don't have much pull, but we think these ideas need to happen.
Scandal/Revenge: Just imagine Olivia Pope doing damage control for the Graysons. They'd probably have hatched their super-vague evil plan already.
Game of Thrones/Once Upon a Time: Talk about jumping the shark. The cast of fairy-tale characters on "Once" is even getting ready to welcome "Frozen" princesses to the tale. It's about time things got shaken up, and watching Westeros lay waste to Storybrooke, and add some explicit sex scenes to boot would do just that.
House of Cards/Orange is the New Black: Please, PLEASE give us just one episode of Claire Underwood serving a brief stint in the clink with Piper, Red, Crazy Eyes and the rest of the crew. She'd be running the kitchen in a week.
Mad Men/The Walking Dead: Yes, they are set in different time periods. But come on, they are on the same network. Don't say you wouldn't watch a crossover that had Don Draper showing up bloodsoaked to a pitch meeting for Campbell's Soup after slaying a hoard of zombies outside the office.
Glee/American Horror Story: We would pay-per-view this. Just when the kids break out into some Taylor Swift song, the lights go down for an obscenely disturbing dance scene involving a lady with two heads before a bondage suit-wearing dude interrupts. Have fun singing your little song now!
