Mick's Tape: Here's the internet

Let's talk.

There's a whole lot to chat about from around the web this week, from discussing the real borders of Chicago to proposing a day free of cyclists. There's also a fantastic little brief below about a dude from the south 'burbs selling a gently used coffin. For reals.

Turn those blue links purple, you guys, it's this week's "Mick's Tape."

Real Chicago Borders

"I'm from Chicago!," exclaimed the man from Clarendon Hills. The folks over at Gawker this week put together a useful primer on what the actual borders of major cities are, according to actual residents. Sorry, Evanston, you didn't make the cut. On a related note, Chicago lost out to Boston in the site's bracket of "America's Ugliest Accents." Dat dere was a close one. Let's celebrate with s¿-sage. (Just in case, that's "sausage" pronounced by a Chicagoan. You'll learn eventually.)

Bike ban

Cubs and Sox fans will have called a truce before cyclists, pedestrians and drivers ever begin to get along. That's probably why Chicago Tribune reporter Ron Grossman's call to ban bikes for a day got so many riled. It's an interesting read, but if you're team bicycle, be prepared to spend the afternoon hammering out an angry email to the author. (His email's at the end of the article.) Fair warning: This article is behind the Chicago Tribune's paywall.

Casket

"I bought this casket a few years ago when I was running a local haunted house," writes Reddit user SonOfKrampus from the south 'burbs of Chicago. SURE ya did, buddy. Whatever the reason someone has an old coffin in their garage, the asking price of $400 isn't so bad, even though it's "gotten banged around a lot over the years." If someone buys this, can you let us know what SonOfKrampus is like in real life?

>>Video: Let me poop

We all made up potty-mouthed lyrics to popular songs as a kid, but we didn't have YouTube to share our poop jokes with the world. Good thing this kid did, as she flawlessly replaces every line to "Let it Go" with well-thought out quips about defecation. I usually stop reading at "little kid sings," but this one is well worth it. Poop on, kid. Poop on.
