"We got outplayed and outcoached in all three phases of the game."
Yes, Marc Trestman, I agree. You were outcoached, and the players were outplayed. I'm a proud Bearsfan, but some days it's embarrassing to admit that. And for the past two weeks, it's been extremely hard to defend this team I love so much.
3-5! As Brandon Marshall so eloquently and passionately stated more than enough times after the loss to Miami, that is unacceptable. We're a team with arguably the best running back in the league in Matt Forte. Marshall and Alshon Jeffery are the best receiving duo, in my opinion. Our kicker is good as (Robbie) Gould. And although our defense sometimes struggles, we earned the reputation of "Monsters of the Midway" for a reason. Yet still we're 3-5. How does that happen?
Well, I'm not one to point fingers, but I'll just say maybe Trestman would work out better as an offensive coordinator than a head coach. And quarterback Jay Cutler just may need an attitude adjustment. When he was asked recently how he *specifically* planned to stabilize the team, his response was: "There's a lot of things. We, ah, I don't know. I don't know. I've just got to lead this group and try to find a way to make sure we play clean football for four quarters."
Tell us something we don't know, Jay. Where's the sense of urgency? Where's the passion for the game? As a fan, I see none of that from two leaders of this organization.
It's time for nonchalant attitudes and lackluster performances to go away. The season is quickly coming to an end, and we're 3-5. And yes, I say "we" because the fans stand with the team. We're all in this together. When they lose, it's a loss for us as well. It was heartbreaking to sit and watch the Bears get destroyed by New England.
Heading into the bye week, it's time to show we're better than our record. Otherwise, the players will be sitting at home come January instead of fighting to make it to the Super Bowl.
After the bye week, we face Green Bay. Let's come back with confidence and pride and finish the second half of the season like the great team we should be. Anything less will be unacceptable.
