Now arriving on the CTA: The squirrel truth.

Ads that feature satirical squirrel "facts" began popping up on the Red Line this month after a Chicago comedian successfully raised more than $4,000 through a Kickstarter fundraising campaign.

"Facts" on the ads include: "Squirrels live in trees. Bees live in trees. Are squirrels actually killer bees...in disguise?" and "No squirrel has ever been appointed to the U.S. Supreme Court...yet. Stay vigilant, humans."

In a Kickstarter campaign last fall, comedian Ben Larrison raised $4,399 among 91 backers to put 100 quirky ads on the CTA. An earlier Kickstarter campaign fell short of his $4,100 goal.

"I just like making people smile, I like making people happy," Larrison told RedEye last year. "I know how tough it can be to take the train every day. It's nice to have little things that can make you smile once in a while."
