A CPS teacher was charged with impersonating a peace officer after he hassled an off-duty police officer and claimed to be a cop from Wisconsin, prosecutors said in Central Bond Court on Friday.
Mark Kelley, 52, allegedly was exiting the Kennedy Expressway at Irving Park Road on Thursday evening when he forced another car off the road, according to prosecutors and Kelley's arrest report. The driver of the car was an off-duty police officer.
Kelley allegedly got out of his car, approached the off-duty cop and said "I am a police officer from Wisconsin and I am going to (expletive) you up," according to prosecutors. Kelley allegedly then took several pictures of the car.
The victim then flagged down a police officer and identified Kelley, who was taken into custody. Judge Laura Sullivan ordered a $10,000 I-bond for Kelley, meaning he can go home to await his next court date.
Kelley, of the 4100 block of North Francisco Avenue, lives with his wife and mother, his attorney stated in court.
