Could Tweet signal a return of 'Happy Endings'?

Is "Happy Endings" coming back or are the show's writers just toying with our emotions?

Almost two years after the Chicago-based sitcom was canceled by ABC, the show's writers (@happywrites) sent this cryptic tweet to its followers:

The link leads readers to a screen that states "It's almost a new day" with a countdown set to expire on April 1. While it could possibly be an elaborate April Fool's Day joke, there's plenty (OK, just three) reasons to believe a fourth season could happen.

  1. Adam Pally just exited "The Mindy Project."

  2. Damon Wayans Jr. is set to leave "New Girl" by the end of the season.

  3. Eliza Coupe's "Benched" was canceled by USA earlier in the year.

But what about the other cast members?

Casey Wilson is currently starring in NBC's "Marry Me," but that show's fate is still up in the air. Elisha Cuthbert's "One Big Happy" premieres on NBC on March 17 and Zachary Knighton's "Weird Loners" debuts on Fox on March 31. So, I guess we'll just have to cross our fingers and wait it out.

But a fourth season of "Happy Endings" would be pretty ah-mah-zing, wouldn't it? Yeah, we think so, too.
