Taylor Swift/Haim and Pitchfork all at once? The weekend of July 17 is going to be awesome.
And with the T-Swift/Haim shows already set for July 18-19 at Soldier Field, the Pitchfork Music Festival's (July 17-19 at Union Park) just-announced lineup stands up and says, "Think twice before blowing us off for Taylor." Two solid local headliners (Wilco, Chance the Rapper) and a third (Sleater-Kinney) that could be the best of the three? A grreat undercard featuring rising acts like Natalie Prass, Shamir and Tobias Jesso Jr. and unmissable artists like Run the Jewels and the New Pornographers? Well done, P4k.
Admittedly, I need to get to better acquaint myself with some of the acts on the bill, but here are 10 I'm already excited to see on there. See the full lineup here and full fest info at pitchforkmusicfestival.com; tickets ($150 for three-day pass; $65 for single-day tickets) are on sale at Ticket Fly.
Friday, July 17
