Chicago likes to party--a lot

As if another reason to drink on St. Patrick's Day was necessary, Chicago revelers can celebrate ranking high in city's that like to party.

After being ranked the fourth most miserable city in the country by Forbes about a week ago (and the fourth most miserable city based on weather, according to weather.com), social-sharing website StumbleUpon ranked Chicago third among city's that like to party, according to an analysis of the site's data released Wednesday.

It's not exactly scientific, but the site was able to analyze the habits of 25 million users of the site, breaking down what cities share the most content related to liquor and beer. Using IP addresses, the site was able to determine what users were creating lists and sharing information about nightlife and booze most often.

Boston and Philadelphia beat out Chicago for the No. 1 and 2 spots respectively. Here's the full list:

  1. Boston
  2. Philadelphia
  3. Chicago
  4. San Diego
  5. New York
  6. Boulder
  7. Baltimore
  8. Washington D.C.
  9. Pittsburgh
  10. Denver
