A tree that crashed during a Chicago storm lives on as core material in more than 40 furniture and accessory pieces from a student design competition in "Idea Tree," the featured installation in the Chicago Loop Alliance's Pop Up Art Loop gallery walk, which also includes a Romare Bearden 100th birthday exhibition, a comics-related show and more at five additional galleries. 5-8 p.m. Schedule: popupartloop.com.
