Do you want to move faster through your living room?
Have a stairwell that could use painting?
Need to repair a broken heater?
Time to put your kids to work.
The CTA is offering on its website ctagifts.com a kids trackworker costume complete with a vest, toolbelt, hard hat, goggles, hammer, saw and nametag that can personalized. Cost: $36.
The transit agency sent an e-mail to riders about the gift last week. "Durably constructed kids trackworker costume is machine washable, and fully equipped with realistic, functional play accessories," the description on ctagifts.com reads. "Carefully crafted from top quality materials and sure to enhance the imagination of any boy or girl."
The costume is geared toward children ages 3 through 6.
And perhaps when the kids are done with work around the house, they can tackle some projects actually on the CTA.
Nearly 16 percent of CTA track was under slow zone in March, while 120 rail delays of 10 minutes or more were reported in January mostly because of equipment problems.
The children are our future.
