Was it a mysterious ship in the sky over Logan Square, or just a not-so-clever Photoshop?
Most likely, the latter.
A photo making the rounds Tuesday claims a saucer hovered low over the north side neighborhood before taking off "in a blink" during rush hour, according to a report filed to the Mutual UFO Network's website. The site collects reports of UFOs from around the world.
"I am writing this for a friend, as he is leary," the report states, adding that the "sighting" was in Logan Square at a very busy time of day. The photo, which appears to show the corner of Kedzie Avenue and Emmett Street, shows a dome-shaped saucer hovering. The report states that the UFO showed up in "broad daylight" and "blue skies" and was "extremely close for it being in a city" but was an "unmistakable" UFO.
The grainy photo also showed up on popular Gawker network blog io9, which features sci-fi and science content, as well as to some strange UFO hobbyist blogs.
