With the confirmation that Outkast would reunite in 2014 for Coachella and the Governor's Ball, many long-time fans (ok, me) were wondering how they would be able to possibly attend or afford to make either show (Seriously though. I mean, BIG JOURNALISM ain't hitting like it used to.) Our worries were allieviated today with the announcement that the duo will be making appearances at no less than 40 music festivals this year.
In a press statement on their website, the duo expressed excitement. "It's truly an honor to celebrate 20 years and still be free to do music the way we choose. Don't just think outside the box, know that there is no box. I'm looking forward to rocking the stage with my Bro Ski and to all the fans - stank you smelly much, this is for y'all!" Big Boi said.
"And imagine, all we wanted to do was rap! I am thankful to have been a part of a group that allowed me to explore anything that came to mind and have fun doing it. Returning to the stage together is the most exciting way for us to thank everyone for their 20 years of supporting Outkast," said André 3000.
If you're a music festival conspiracy theorist like I am, you're probably now looking at the "Will Outkast play Pitchfork or Lollapalooza?" game and making pros and cons to both fests. You're probably also scratching your head thinking about how there are 40 plus music festivals to considere.
Whatever, here's the video for Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik
