The moments leading up to the Blue Line train derailment at O'Hare have been captured on video.
The CTA declined to comment Wednesday on a video posted to YouTube, which appears to show about 45 seconds of footage of the train approaching the camera. The camera appears to be placed directly above the escalator upon which the train came to rest. A spokesperson from O'Hare Airport said the video was not theirs and had no knowledge of the source. The Chicago Police Department also said the video was not taken by any of their cameras, according to a spokesperson.
It's unclear who posted the video other than having the username "SuccessHab," but it appears the video was taken of a video monitor playing the footage. It is also unclear who originally posted the video, as at least one version had been taken down as of Wednesday.
The NTSB will hold a press conference at 10 a.m. with an update on the status of their investigation.
The derailment Monday injured 32 people, and may have been caused by a fatigued conductor. Authorities are investigating.
