Chicago's fashion week-dubbed Fashion Focus-returns this year with brand-new events, runway shows and collections by local designers spanning Oct. 14-19. Here's a look at our event picks.
Tuesday, Oct. 14
Margaret Buckman Jewelry Trunk Show
The Arts Club of Chicago, 201 E. Ontario St.
Browse baubles and bangles from Chicago designer Margaret Buckman, who will donate a portion of sales to benefit survivors of human trafficking through the Salvation Army's Promise Program, Anne's House. 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Free admission.

M.Go Fashion Company presents Be-you-tiful Fashion Night Out
1501 W. Chicago Ave.
This boutique-salon hybrid hosts an open house showcasing its fall fashion and beauty collections. Food will be provided by Shaman and cocktails and dessert provided by Chilam Balam. 7-9 p.m. Free admission.

The Art of Fashion

In its eighth season, The Art of Fashion features Spring 2015 collections from Chicago designers. The event includes a cocktail reception, runway show and after-party. 6-11 p.m. Tickets range from $55 to $115 and are expected to sell out prior to the event.

Midwest Fashion Week presents Fashion for a Cause
Vertigo Sky Lounge, Dana Hotel, 2 W. Erie St.
Cheer on physicians walking in a runway show featuring Midwestern designers like Parul, Catou, Danny Nguyn and others. Proceeds go to the Lynn Sage Foundation, which supports breast cancer research. 7-10 p.m. $20.
Saturday, Oct. 18
Sew Better, Sew Faster learning seminar
3816 W. Wrightwood Ave.
"No pins, no basting, no kidding" is the tagline for this beginner-friendly sewing class in Lincoln Park hosted by Laura Wyatt, a certified Islander Sewing Systems instructor. Wyatt will demonstrate sewing techniques in an open-house format from 1-3 p.m., no advanced registration required. Free admission.

Multiples: The Fair of Art, Indie Craft, Handmade, Print & Visual Culture Fair and Shopping Event
