Well, it's over. The Bears finish their disastrous season 5-11, and fans can't forget it soon enough.

No need to dissect Sunday's 13-9 loss at Minnesota in the season finale. That's right, the Bears did not even have a touchdown to hang their hats on.

There will be plenty of time to dwell on the Bears' deficiencies and how they will correct them. Those decisions will dominate football talk in Chicago the rest of this offseason. Until the other shoes start to drop, let's look at what went right in 2014.

1,000-100 club

Bears running back Matt Forte is the second player in NFL history (the other: LaDainian Tomlinson) to tally 1,000 rushing yards and 100 catches in the same season. He ended up with 102 receptions, an NFL record for catches by a running back. (He finished with 1,038 rushing yards.) If only all that amounted to more wins.

Aloha, Pro Bowl

Kyle Long was named to the Pro Bowl last week for the second time in two seasons. Somehow he was the only Pro Bowler on the field in Sunday's game. On second thought, that's not all that surprising-the matchup featured two of the worst teams in the NFL.

Dino-mite!

It's not in Martellus Bennett's nature to do things quietly. But that's how one would describe the "Orange Dinosaur's" 90 catches for 916 yards and six touchdowns in 2014. All those numbers are up from 2013, by the way.

Reel 'em in, Willie

Of all the injuries the Bears had this season-and there were a ton-Willie Young tearing an Achilles tendon may have been the most heartbreaking. The defensive lineman had a team-leading 10 sacks and was playing well across the board. Fans will miss his fishing celebrations until he returns.

See ya in the spring

One upside to the Bears losing Sunday is the result secures the seventh pick in the next NFL draft; they would have dropped in the order had they won. The Bears had an NFL-high 17 rookies on their roster this season. They might need every single one of them.
