It's a promise he makes in a series of videos he spent two months producing and that he launched April 4, in hopes of standing out among other job-seekers after six months of unemployment. He's dubbed himself the "All-In-One-ADMAN," and the 37-year-old West Town resident has already received a few responses from headhunters.
"I've been in advertising for over ten years, and I got laid off about six months ago," he said. "I said, 'What can I do that no one has ever done before?' It's a little bit edgy, but in my mind I think you need to be edgy to stand out, unlike the word documents or PDFs people usually use. I am the product."
The videos, and the dedicated website to "All-In-One-ADMAN," took Fin about two months to finish along with the help of a few friends, including local standup comic Jeff Steinbrenner. In the videos, Steinbrenner plays a "ShamWow"-style salesman who rattles off Fin's qualifications to be bought for the low price of $19.99 (plus $99,999 shipping in handling, which Fin said is a tongue-in-cheek hint at his desired salary.)
Despite the jokes - like the "Made in 'Merica" photo where he's smoking and holding PBR - Fin said he is serious about finding a job with his copywriting, design, advertising and production experience. He said he has the chops. He has worked for large firms like Euro RSCG and Draft FCB in his thirteen years in the industry.
"I'm absolutely looking for a job," he said. "I am going to lose my apartment soon if I don't find one, quite honestly."
Fin said he hopes to see the videos eventually go viral, and he might not be surprised if they do. Several of his comedy videos and songs on his YouTube page have more than 500,000 views.
